EAPA Greater Toledo Chapter
The Greater Toledo Chapter of EAPA originated in the late 1970s as the Northwest Association of Alcoholism
and Employee Assistance Programs.
The organization was renamed EAST (Employee Assistance Society of Toledo) in the mid-1980s and held
monthly meetings for networking and education.
In 1990, the organization decided to affiliate with the international Employee Assistance
Professionals Association (EAPA).
EAPA is an international association of approximately 7,000 members representing labor and management
in both public and private sectors. EAPA adheres to a Code of Ethics, Standards and Professional Guidelines, sponsors a certification
exam, continuing education, and promotes service delivery emphasizing a core technology.
Employee Assistance Programs provide work
organizations with the means to improve job performance and behavioral health through assistance.
