President’s letter

The Northern Ohio Chapter of the Employee   Assistance Professionals Association

I am humbled and honored to serve as the newest NEO-EAPA Board President.  I began my EAP journey just nine short years ago and I continue to be inspired by the dedication and commitment of my mentors, directors and colleagues.  As EAPs we recognize the signs and symptoms of stress in the workplace.  Even in our own workplaces.  With that in mind, I want to ensure that our Chapter meetings continue to provide not only professional networking opportunities but also a place of respite and an opportunity to recharge both professionally and personally.

We fight many tough battles as EA Professionals, none more salient than our ongoing efforts to show our worth and provide return on investment to our client companies.  The good news is, we are seeing those numbers and the research is positive.  Now, more than ever, EAPs are crucial to our client company’s ability to function at peak levels and to be a bridge between need and help. The synergistic atmosphere of our chapter meetings provides me with such appreciation and I look forward to doing my part to continuing that effort.

It is with great reverence to my many amazing colleagues and friends in this field of EAP work that I feel ready to take on the challenge of leading this established and respected chapter.  As one of my favorite authors says, “We’re all just walking each other home.” (Ram Dass). Cheers to a great year ahead!
